ATC's Creative Writing programme for Primary and Secondary Irish students is the perfect opportunity to have fun with writing and pick up some great tips along the way! The aim of these courses is to help local students living in Ireland to improve their creative writing skills through innovative activities with an experienced English teacher, live online.
ATC's Easter Creative Writing programme for Secondary Irish students is the perfect opportunity for to embrace their passion, whether as a hobby
or to impress in the Leaving Cert. Students will have the opportunity to work on engaging and compelling plot devices, realistic characterisation,
convincing dialogue and how to write endings that really work!
They will also look at personal essay writing, specifically how to generate ideas and content, hit a tone that engages the reader and sustain quality throughout.
Primary school students will experiment with creating immersive, detailed worlds with realistic characters, as well as learning ways of developing
interesting and diverse storylines. The Creative Writing course for Primary students will also focus on vocabulary building and sentence structure,
but all while having tonnes of fun!
- Easter Course Dates:
- From Monday 29th March to Thursday 1st April 2021
- From Tuesday 6th April to Friday 9th April 2021
- Age groups:
- Primary Students - ages 9-11 years
- Secondary Students - ages 15-18 years
- Maximum Class Size: 10 students
- Pair Work: Students may be paired with a pen pal for tasks & homework
The teachers for ATC's Creative Writing courses have backgrounds in primary teaching, and secondary English teaching. The materials and tasks are designed by teachers with extensive experience in the Leaving Cert English exam preparation and teaching, and in English Language and Literature teaching.
- Primary Students - 10am to 12noon
- Secondary Students - 1.30pm - 3.30pm
€50 per 4 day session.
